WARNING: Electricity is Dangerous

Materials and tools that need to be prepared in advance:

1. Corten steel wall light
2. Switch
3. Wire (usually a combination of black, white, and bare copper)
4. Screwdriver
5. Wire strippers
6. Wire nut
7. Electrical tape

Installation steps

1. Turn off the power:
Before starting any electrical work, turn off power to the circuit you will be working on at the main electrical panel.

2. Planning and wiring:
Determine the location of corten steel wall lights and switches. Plan the route of the wire from the switch to the sconce.

3. Install the switch:
Mount the switch box on the wall at the desired location. Route the cables from the switch box to where the power supply is located.

4. Connect to the switch:
Connect the wires to the switch. Typically, switches have two brass-colored screws (for the hot wire) and one green screw (for the ground wire). The white neutral wire is usually connected to the wire nut, not to the switch.

5. To connect a wall light:
Run the cable from the wall light to the switch box. Connect the black (hot) wire from the sconce to one of the brass screws on the switch. Use the wire nuts to connect all the white wires together, then connect the bare copper (ground) wire to the green screw on the switch.

6. Secure connection:
Make sure all wire connections are secure and tight. Secure connections with wire nuts and wrap with electrical tape for added security.

7. Install the switch:
Carefully fold and tuck the wires into the switch box. Mount the switch to the box using the screws provided.

8. Install wall panels:
Install wall plate to cover the switch and any exposed wiring.

8. Turn on the power:
Turn power back on to the main electrical panel and test the wall lights to make sure they are working properly.

If you are unsure about any aspect of the wiring process, or whether local codes require it, consult a licensed electrician to ensure a safe, compliant installation.
